Hook Says Ex-Label Exec Holding Joy Division and New Order Outtakes Hostage

September 9th, 2013

Former New Order and Joy Division bass player Peter Hook says his efforts to acquire tapes containing outtakes from his bands as well as some other UK artists have thus far borne no fruit. One time label executive Julia Adamson, who came into possession of the material following a studio bankruptcy, reportedly told Hook his offer was too low.

Hook says Warner Music Group probably has legal claim to the material. Adamson may have to face them in court eventually. For now the tapes sit on a shelf at Miss Adamson's home in the UK.
