A More Specific Tame Impala/Floyd Comparison

Look, I'm not the first, and I won't be the last to compare Aussies Tame Impala to Pink Floyd. You could even accuse me of being lazy in making the connection. I'll forge ahead nonetheless and be more specific. When I hear them I think of Pink Floyd pre "Dark Side Of The Moon." Sure the Syd Barrett fronted Floyd on "Piper At The Gates Of Dawn" is a good place to start, but I'll give you something else to chew on.... The long forgotten Floyd flick "Pink Floyd At Pompeii." The live stuff filmed in the empty stadium ruins especially. I love this stuff! Lucky for us the Director's cut is housed gratis on You Tube. Far out! My favorite part is David Gilmour sitting in the dirty abusing his guitar during "Saucerful Of Secrets" at the half hour mark. Very Thurston Moore!
