The First Song I Remember Hearing

This is a tough one. Music wasn't an essential part of my household growing up. But I do remember my mom having a CD of The Essential Bruce Springsteen. I can picture the album cover as I'm typing this. SO, something by Bruce was probably one of the first songs I remember hearing.

I also remember Abba being a big part of growing up. For some reason, my parents were really into Abba (my mom had a DVD of ALL the Abba music videos. Not kidding). I couldn't tell ya the first one I heard, so here's my favorite.

First/Most Memorable Concert

My first concert was probably something along the lines of N*Sync or Britney Spears...but the first concert I paid for/what started my obsession with live shows was The Killers at The LC Outdoors in 2007. It rained really hard and I loved every second of it.

Song that reminds you of your teen years

The Strokes for sure. They were the first band that really made me fall in love with Alternative music/music in general. The Strokes, in general, are probably my favorite band and they hold a very special place in my heart. Room on Fire is my favorite album, and this is my favorite song on the album.

The Song That Reminds You of being in Love

Favorite Movie Soundtrack/Song

Almost Famous. I love every song in this movie and every time I watch it I'll become obsessed with music from the 60's & the 70's for a few weeks. It's magical.

The First Album I Bought

The first album I bought with my own money was probably Songs About Jane, by the one and only Maroon 5.

The Band You Would Want to Join

Mac DeMarco. I saw him and his band at Nelsonville Music Festival this past summer and they put on one of the best/most entertaining sets I've seen in a while. It was like 3 hours of absolute craziness. They'd be fun to hang out with.

The Song that makes me cry

James Blake does a cover of A Case of You by Joni Mitchell. It's beautiful and gets me all teary.

The Song that makes me instantly smile

I have a vivid memory of my sister babysitting me when I was probably 5 or 6. We danced around the house to Footloose. Not only is that one of my favorite movies, it has a special place in my heart because it reminds me of my sister.

The Song That Makes Me Dance

Grimes is my girl. It's hard to not dance to this song.

My Karaoke Song

Confession: I've never done karaoke...but if I ever had enough courage (or enough alcohol) to do so, I would probably sing The Chain by Fleetwood Mac.

Song I have on Repeat right now

Basically, I have Lemonade, the entire album, on repeat right now. But only two of the songs from the album are on YouTube, so here's one of my favorites.
