The First Song I Remember Hearing
Bobby Darin's "Splish Splash". I used to sing this song all the time when I was in the bathtub and splash around, much to my parent's chagrin.
First/Most Memorable Concert
Jesus Jones / Ned's Atomic Dustbin / New Fast Automatic Daffodils September 1991 at the State Theater in Ann Arbor. I was a huge Ned's fan at the time and was stoked! I still have the tour shirt from that show. Its huge and riddled with holes, but I still have it. New FADS cancelled. Some girl stole my long sleeve shirt that day. LAME.
The First Song I Fell In Love With
"Head Over Heels" by Tears For Fears. I was 11 when Songs From The Big Chair came out and I remember falling head over heels for this track. :)
Favorite Movie Soundtrack
Goodbye Horses by Q Lazzarus. Most people know this one from Silence of the Lambs. Its pretty creepy in the context of the film, but taken on its own, its a gorgeous and sad piece of 80s synth pop.
The First Album I Bought
Plastic Surgery Disasters by the Dead Kennedys. That record set the tone for my entire musical life. I was terrified and curious at the same time. After that, I was hooked on punk rock.
The Band You Would Want to Join
The Telescopes. The Telescopes are a great UK shoegaze band who started off in the late 80s and are still active today. I've gotten to know their frontman, Stephen Lawrie a bit over the years and have begged him multiple times to let me come play guitar. Alas, no joy.
The Song that makes me cry
Waltz #2 by Elliott Smith. That might be the saddest song ever.
My Karaoke Song
Any and all Creedence Clearwater Revival. In particular, Lodi has been a favorite lately.
The Song I Want Played At My Funeral
"You're Gonna Miss Me" by the 13th Floor Elevators. It just seems like a funny and fitting send off.
