Ranking The 1975's Albums So Far...

May 6th, 2020

It's almost here! The 1975's new album, Notes On A Conditional Form, is set to arrive May 22nd.

So here I am to rank The 1975’s albums so far. (Yes, all THREE of them. I know, it's a tough gig.)

BTW, I feel like this ranking could change at any time. It's like how I can never decide if Pinkerton or The Blue Album is Weezer’s best album. It just depends on the day.

3. A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships

I appreciate the experimentation on this record, and you can see the artists they admire coming through in their work, which can be both positive and important as a band continues to grow. This is also the album where I heard my non-pop music listening friends say, “I think I like The 1975.”

2. The 1975

It’s a good record, and it’s hard to believe it’s a debut because it’s so well crafted.

1. I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It

Look, I hate this album title. I always have. But this is a solid pop record, and I personally connected with this album pretty quickly, thus making it my favorite.

With that being said, I am really looking forward to the new album because the early released songs are ALL OVER THE PLACE, and I can be into that.

What are your thoughts? Am I totally wrong? That’s okay. Let me know. @rachaelcd1025 on Twitter.
