What's on my turntable - Archer of Loaf - Vee Vee (Alias, 1995)

I listen to a lot of records. Its my preferred method to listen to music! I figured I'd share some of the things that have been spinning at Casa Butler lately. This week, its been "Vee Vee", the second studio album from Chapel Hill, North Carolina's Archers of Loaf. It was originally released in 1995 on Alias records and reissued on Merge records in 2012. This album is smart, dissonant indie rock. Noisey, out of tune guitars mingle with clever lyrics, but unlike a lot of American indie stuff from the time, this record absolutely rocks. Favorite tracks include: Fabricoh, Harnessed In Slums, and Underdogs of Nipomo. If you are a Pavement or GBV fan, do yourself a solid and look in to the Archers of Loaf.
